Home Envelope Air Sealing is part of the weatherization process to prevent air from leaking through hidden gaps and cracks found in a home.

Home envelope air leakage through windows, doors, walls, rim bands, floors and ceilings has been shown to increase heating and cooling costs 35-40%. Unsealed chases and cavities by way of attics and crawl spaces bring unconditioned and unfiltered air into living areas.

How We Can Help

As energy costs and poor occupant health continue to rise as a result of leaky homes, it is important that homebuilders offer customers affordable utility bills and healthy homes.  Our experienced Home Performance Auditors inspect homes, digitally photograph and report problem areas. Prior to insulation being installed, our "Green-Collar Crew" seals all joints in the home envelope, minimizing any air movement within or between the building cavities. Reducing air movement limits a home's energy losses and comfort problems.  GHS Home Performance Auditors oversee the entire work of the GHS Green-Collar Crew to ensure tightly sealed homes required by the Energy Star program.

Our Crew uses building code approved and environmentally responsible air sealing products.
